Occupational Health Nurse III

Athens, GA | Onsite | Full-Time | 2nd Shift

Compensation: $58-$62/hr W2 + Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) Match

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse III to support a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in employee health, workplace safety, injury management, and emergency response while operating with a high degree of autonomy within an onsite medical clinic.

Position Overview

As an Occupational Health Nurse III, you will be responsible for the daily clinical administration and delivery of occupational health services, supporting both employees and facility leadership. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent triage skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational health nursing services for employee illnesses and injuries
  • Manage work-related injury cases and support workers' compensation activities
  • Perform triage assessments and deliver appropriate clinical care
  • Support and help lead onsite medical emergency response efforts
  • Conduct pre-employment screenings, drug and alcohol testing (DOT and non-DOT), and fit-for-duty evaluations
  • Perform OSHA-mandated surveillance examinations
  • Coordinate with local HR, safety teams, and facility leadership on employee health initiatives
  • Support disability case management activities
  • Maintain clinical records, metrics, and regulatory documentation
  • Serve as a liaison between facility leadership, employees, and corporate medical resources
  • Assist with wellness programs, health promotion initiatives, and employee education
  • Participate in clinic administration and continuous improvement efforts
  • Collaborate with safety teams on production floor evaluations and injury prevention initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Associate degree in Nursing or higher
  • 1-5 years of nursing experience
  • CPR Certification
  • Strong clinical judgment and triage skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and basic Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Occupational health nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Workers' compensation and injury case management experience preferred
  • ICU, Emergency Department, Trauma, Critical Care, or Correctional Nursing backgrounds highly desirable due to the fast-paced environment and need for strong clinical judgment and triage skills
  • Occupational Health Nurses with experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or corporate populations are highly desired
  • COAHC certification preferred
  • Experience conducting OSHA surveillance exams, drug and alcohol testing, and fit-for-duty evaluations
  • Familiarity with Cority, ERR, PeopleSoft, or similar occupational health systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance, ADA, ergonomics, disability management, EHS, and workplace wellness programs
