Special Education 2025 - 2026 School Year POSITION: Occupational Specialist - Special Education Beacon Day Treatment Center* 1 position And any positions that result from the filling of this posting

QUALIFICATIONS: • Current occupational professional therapy certification • Experience with students with limited emotional or self-regulation and/or sensory needs • 3-5 years experience working with students with EI preferred • Knowledge of trauma-informed strategies and interventions preferred • Philosophy in agreement with the District

DUTIES: • Ability to evaluate students and prepare appropriate therapy plans • Provide staff and community resource specific to certification(s) • Provide therapy as determined by IEP, therapy plan, or behavior intervention plan • Assist in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing/implementing Behavior Intervention Plans • Determine appropriate treatment plans through documented evaluations and consultations • Provide training on use of necessary occupational therapy equipment and strategies as deemed appropriate • Carefully document all services provided in an effective and clear manner • Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom-based activities and sensory strategies/interventions • Meet the needs of all students effectively by working in partnership with other disciplines • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policy • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research, theories, and practices associated with therapy in the school-based setting Other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Administrator and Executive Director of Special Education

WORK SCHEDULE: According to School Calendar

SALARY: According to LPEA Master Agreement
