As a school-based Occupational Therapist in Arlington Heights, Illinois, your days will include:
- Collaborate as a member of a team of eight Occupational Therapists supporting students across the school district.
- Serve on middle school building-level teams and provide occupational therapy services to students.
- Complete initial evaluations and re-evaluations to help determine special education eligibility.
- Provide MTSS and IEP support based on student needs.
- Consult and collaborate with educational teams to promote generalization of skills across school environments.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and support student access, participation, and success within the educational setting.
Job Details
- Position: Contract, ASAP - June 3, 2027
- Hours: 35 hours per week; preferred full-time schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-3:15 PM. Open to two part-time candidates.
- Caseload: Middle school; supporting two middle school buildings
- Interview: Virtual interview with a typical 24-48 hour turnaround
Successful Candidates Possess
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (required)
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license (required); PEL is not required
- Previous school-based experience strongly preferred
- The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
- Note: Experienced candidates are preferred; new graduates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
