Job Description
Implement Occupational Therapy treatment programs for referred patients under the general supervision of a registered and licensed occupational therapist. Follow hospital and department approved policies related to documentation, attendance, education, etc. Show respect and courtesy to all staff, patients and visitors.
Responsibilities
1. Evaluation:
Conducts screenings and assessments of patients of various age categories in accordance with established protocols and under the supervision of a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist.
2. Documentation:
Adheres to hospital/department policies. Documentation is timely and legible. Complies with all pertinent regulatory standards. Accurate and timely completion of charging documents. Assumes a leadership role in assuring that all documentation is co-signed by an OTR.
3. Treatment:
Implements the established treatment plan in collaboration with the OTR. Delivers care in a professional and customer oriented manner. Adheres to department safety standards. Utilizes updated treatment techniques. Collaborates with the OTR in discharge planning.
4. PI/Education:
Participates in department performance improvement programs. Able to articulate outcomes and improvements. Participates in educational in-services/opportunities to advance clinical knowledge/competencies. Completes mandatory education per hospital/department requirements. Active participation in mentoring and orientation to fellow associates and students, as indicated.
5. Department Operations:
Assists with COTA student supervision according to departmental needs and demand. Adheres to hospital initiatives. Demonstrates time management skills. Meets productivity standards and makes productive use of work time. Attends department meetings/in-services and demonstrates professional behavior. Maintains a safe and clean environment, follows infection control guidelines. Uses Hospital information services appropriately. Follows hospital and Human Resource policies. Maintains adequate inventory of supplies. Promotes a positive atmosphere.
6. Population Specific:
Considers special needs of various populations of patients and caregivers in assessment, treatment, and program planning. Modifies as needed. Participates in departmental educational opportunities to increase population specific skills.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Associate's or equivalent degree in Applied Science from AOTA approved curriculum is required.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Prefer 1 year, will consider new graduate
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
Certification by the AOTA and Licensure of the State of Ohio.
