    Job Description

    A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides coordinated occupational therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Participates in the coordination of care.

    Essential functions:

    • Provides services that are ordered by the physician as indicated in the plan of care, as developed, delegated, and supervised by the Occupational Therapist (OT). Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
    • Facilitates patients' ROM, strength, coordination, use of adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues as related to patients' ADL performance under the supervision of the OT.
    • Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating and performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
    • Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
    • Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to provide patient and caregiver education.
    • Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance, as necessary.
    • Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency.
    • Participates in the Agency's QAPI program.
    • Meets mandatory continuing education requirements; participates in the Agency sponsored in-service trainings.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited program of occupational therapist assistant with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
    • Active, state license as an occupational therapist assistant.
    • Current driver's license.
    • One year of experience as an occupational therapist assistant, preferred.
    • Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies.
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Proof of current CPR certification.
    • Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
