Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA / COTA)
Job Summary:
Assists the Occupational Therapist in providing therapeutic interventions to help patients improve functional abilities, regain independence, and enhance quality of life. Implements treatment plans, monitors patient progress, documents care, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team while ensuring safe, patient-centered care.
Requirements:
Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) license in the state of practice.
Current BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.
Recent experience in acute care, outpatient, rehabilitation, SNF, home health, or other clinical settings preferred.
Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
Assist patients in improving activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, strength, coordination, and functional independence.
Monitor, document, and report patient progress and responses to treatment.
Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.
Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas.
Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary healthcare team to support quality patient care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with regulatory, safety, and infection control standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
