An Occupational Therapist opportunity is available at a 558-bed acute care hospital in Atlantis, FL — a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, certified Ventricular Assist Device program, American College of Cardiology Chest Pain Center, and American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program, with services spanning emergency care, cardiovascular, neurosciences, robotic surgery, orthopedics, spine, bariatrics, behavioral health, and obstetrics.
The role. The Occupational Therapist manages the complete process of occupational therapeutic care for an assigned patient caseload, working in close coordination with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team. Core clinical responsibilities include completing thorough patient assessments, contributing to individualized care plan development, and delivering purposeful, skilled treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics. The OT observes and documents patient responses to treatment and changes in condition, communicates relevant payor requirements to the physician, treatment team, and patient's family in a timely manner, and prioritizes caseload while coordinating daily staffing needs and patient handoffs to support continuity of care across the care continuum.
