Occupational Therapist Clinical Specialist
Location: Humble, TX
Pay Rate: Starting at $51.00/hour
Schedule: Flexible Schedule Options:
- Monday-Thursday | 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (4 x 10-hour shifts)
- Monday-Thursday | 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM and Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Dean's Professional Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist Clinical Specialist to join a leading pediatric healthcare system in Humble, TX. This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping children achieve developmental milestones and improve their quality of life through individualized, evidence-based therapy. The Clinical Specialist will evaluate, develop, and implement occupational therapy treatment plans for pediatric patients while collaborating with families and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and reassessments for pediatric patients
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable short- and long-term goals based on patient needs
- Provide occupational therapy interventions for children with a variety of neuromotor and developmental conditions
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes
- Recommend adaptive equipment and therapeutic interventions to support patient independence
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, treatment goals, and ongoing therapy needs
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Manage patient schedules while maintaining departmental productivity expectations
- Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise and serve as a resource within the therapy department
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric clinical experience or completion of a 1-year pediatric, women's health, orthopedic, or sports medicine residency
- Active Texas Occupational Therapist license required
- Pediatric experience required
- Experience treating children from birth through age 21 with neuromotor diagnoses, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Cerebral Palsy
- Brachial Plexus Injuries
- Down Syndrome
- Genetic disorders
- Developmental delays
- Feeding therapy and infant therapy experience preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of pediatric rehabilitation, child development, and evidence-based therapy practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
