Job Description Summary
Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments. Conducts evaluations of an individuals speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools. Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment.
Bachelor or masters degree in Occupational Therapy and one year of experience as an occupational therapist
Required License Certification and Registration Licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy Registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
Current Basic Life Support BLS required either a certification from an American Heart Association AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or AHA recognized equivalent or an American Red Cross CPRAED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
Education
A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current South Carolina licensure and NBCOT certification required Current American Heart Association AHA Basic Life Support BLS certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required Greater than 1 year of applicable experience required
