Job Posting: Occupational Therapist

Location: Shawboro Elementary School & Central Elementary School Position Type: Full-Time School-Based Start Date: Immediate Reports To: Exceptional Children EC Director, Student Services Coordinator

Job Summary Currituck County Schools is seeking a qualified and student-focused Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy services for students at Shawboro Elementary School and Central Elementary School. The Occupational Therapist will support students in developing skills necessary for participation and success in the educational environment in alignment with each student's IEP and educational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Occupational Therapist will: • Provide occupational therapy evaluations, screenings, and assessments as needed • Develop and implement OT services aligned to student IEPs • Provide direct and consultative OT services in school settings • Collaborate with EC teachers, general education staff, administrators, and families • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress monitoring • Maintain required documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid documentation if applicable • Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and classroom strategies to support student access • Provide staff consultation and training as appropriate • Follow district, state, and federal compliance requirements for special education services • Travel between Shawboro Elementary and Central Elementary as assigned

Qualifications Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program • Current NC Occupational Therapy License or eligible to obtain • NBCOT certification preferred, required based on district standards • Experience working with children in a school setting preferred • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and school-based therapy best practices • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
