Job Description:

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy

Education Preferred: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

Experience Required: Acute care experience

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS

Required: Valid State of Massachusetts Occupational Therapy License

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs and documents an initial examination, evaluating the data to identify problems to determine a working treatment plan prior to implementing interventions.
  • Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed treatment plan to improve or restore function, alleviate pain and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Re-evaluates the effectiveness of treatment on an on going basis adjusting treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Communicates with patients and medical practitioners regarding outcomes and expectations during the course of patient care
  • Records prognosis, treatment, response and progress in electronic medical record and provides referral source with proper updates and discharge reports.
  • As a member of the multidisciplinary patient care team, communicates clearly to physicians, allied health professionals, nursing and Case Managers as well as patients and their families.
  • Participates in discharge planning when requested to optimize the patient's long term outcome.
  • Participates in community activities to enhance awareness of Winchester Hospital and rehabilitation services.
  • Transfers patient with appropriate assistive device to minimize risk to patient and therapist.
  • Responds to supply/equipment issues in a timely manner to ensure availability of equipment and to maximize its useful life.

Pay Range:

$38.50 - $53.90

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
