Job Title: Occupational Therapist IPR
Location: Detroit, MI (On Site)
Duration: 8 Weeks (Possible Extension and/or Conversion to Full-Time Employment)
Shift Hours: 7:00 AM 5:30 PM (4 x 10-Hour Shifts)

Two options available:

• Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday
• Sunday Wednesday

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience in Inpatient Rehabilitation (IPR) required.
• Ability to evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial deficits.
• Experience developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Strong patient and family education skills.
• Experience supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy technicians.
• Proficiency in patient documentation and care plan management.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Current Occupational Therapist Registration (OTR) credential from the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required within 30 days of hire/assignment start.

Job Description:

• Evaluate patients to determine their ability to safely and effectively perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent living skills.
• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and identify functional limitations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, including appropriate treatment frequency and therapeutic interventions.
• Implement occupational therapy treatment programs using evidence-based therapeutic techniques and modalities.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve rehabilitation goals.
• Document evaluations, treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, functional limitations, safety precautions, and adaptive strategies.
• Assist with discharge planning and recommend adaptive equipment, home modifications, and community support resources as appropriate.
• Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy technicians in accordance with state regulations and professional practice standards.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient-centered care planning.

Additional Information:

• This is an 8-week contract assignment with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to a permanent position.
• Candidates must have prior inpatient rehabilitation experience.
