Position Summary

Solstice Behavioral Health & Consulting is seeking dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapists to provide school-based occupational therapy services to students with a variety of developmental, physical, sensory, and educational needs. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to promote student participation and success in the educational environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Evaluate students to determine occupational therapy needs and eligibility for services.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals.
• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services.
• Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, self-care, and functional school participation skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers.
• Participate in PPT/IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of services and outcomes.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and accommodations as needed.
• Support the development of student independence and participation across educational settings.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and organizational requirements.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Connecticut Occupational Therapist License.
• NBCOT Certification required.
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
• Strong understanding of sensory integration, fine motor development, and school-based interventions.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous school-based occupational therapy experience.
• Experience working with students receiving special education services.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed and student-centered practices.
