Job Overview – Occupational Therapist (OT)
Compensation: $65 – $75/hour

TAG MedStaffing is hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) in New York, NY for our client, supporting occupational therapy services within DOE-aligned school settings for the upcoming school year. This role offers flexible school placements, working with students to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and classroom participation. You will provide therapy aligned with IEP goals while following the academic calendar. New graduates are welcome to apply with an active permanent Occupational Therapy license.

Responsibilities as the Occupational Therapist (OT):
  • Therapy Delivery: Provide occupational therapy services to students in individual and group settings based on IEP requirements.
  • Skill Development: Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills that enhance classroom performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate daily records of therapy sessions and student progress using electronic systems.
  • IEP Participation: Prepare progress reports and participate in IEP meetings with school staff and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to implement effective therapy plans.
  • Compliance: Ensure all services align with DOE guidelines and educational standards.
Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist (OT):
  • Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Licensure: Active New York State Occupational Therapy license is required.
  • Certification: NBCOT certification and an active NPI number are required.
  • Experience: Prior experience in school-based therapy or relevant clinical settings is preferred, with new graduates considered.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of IEP processes and school-based therapy practices is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with electronic documentation systems and standard office tools is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong communication, organization, and the ability to support students in a structured environment.
