    Position Summary

    We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OTR) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will evaluate and treat residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to help residents achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Evaluate residents within 24 hours, or one business day, of physician referral when possible
    • Develop individualized treatment plans and obtain physician approval as required
    • Provide occupational therapy services in accordance with physician orders and established goals
    • Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
    • Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides
    • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), therapy aides, and students in accordance with state practice regulations
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
    • Participate in care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, utilization review meetings, and discharge planning activities
    • Complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, and required documentation accurately and timely
    • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, maintenance programs, and discharge recommendations
    • Recommend and facilitate acquisition of adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment as appropriate
    • Report equipment concerns and assist in maintaining a safe therapy environment
    • Conduct in-service education and training for facility staff as needed

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required
    • Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy preferred
    • Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred
    • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred
    • Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills

    Licenses & Certifications

    • Current Occupational Therapist license in South Carolina and in good standing
    • Must maintain all required continuing education requirements
    • Must remain in good standing with the applicable State Board
