Marinette School District is seeking an energetic, self-starter to join our Marine Team as an Occupational Therapist. The position will be responsible for assisting students in addressing the physical, cognitive, psychological, and sensory components of performance. Additionally the position is also responsible for providing activity and environmental analysis, with modification as necessary, to reduce barriers to student participation.
Responsibilities Include:
Assists with periodic screenings, including data collection and analysis, and provides teacher training, models activities, and assists with team problem solving.
Provides appropriate and specialized occupational therapy techniques through individual and/or group sessions designed to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of students.
Coordinates with parents to provide suggests for home techniques.
Provides evaluation services to assist the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team with identifying the presence of a disability and provides evidence of need for occupational therapy.
Provides training in typical and atypical child development and the impacts of physical and mental health on student learning and participation.
Supports student participation in school routines while promoting independence.
Ensures that each student in the program has necessary evaluation records and completes progress reports in a timely manner.
Refers students requiring further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel or community agencies.
Serves as an active participant on the district's Strive (Response to Intervention) team as necessary.
