Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient rehabilitation setting, focusing on functional independence, safety, mobility, and quality of life.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational institution.
Current and unrestricted Massachusetts Occupational Therapist license.
Current BLS certification.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and patient-care skills.
Ability to work effectively with adult and pediatric patients.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional standards.
Responsibilities
Evaluate adult and pediatric patients and identify functional limitations and rehabilitation needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
Perform comprehensive assessments and diagnostic testing.
Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions, therapeutic activities, modalities, and adaptive techniques.
Fabricate and fit adaptive equipment, orthotics, and splints when appropriate.
Re-evaluate patients and modify treatment plans based on clinical progress.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, progress, education, and discharge planning.
Educate patients and families on therapeutic procedures, home exercise programs, adaptive strategies, and safety.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, allied health professionals, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team.
Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for continued care.
Provide guidance to COTAs, rehabilitation aides, and occupational therapy students.
Assist with orientation and training of rehabilitation personnel.
Maintain equipment, supplies, inventory, and billing/charge information.
Follow safety, infection-control, quality-improvement, and departmental standards.
Participate in meetings, in-service training, continuing education, and professional development.
Stay current with occupational therapy practices, research, treatment techniques, and applicable regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
