Occupational Therapist (OT) – Home Health | Poughkeepsie, NY | Part-Time | $55–$85/Visit

Are you a licensed OT looking for flexible, well-paying part-time work — without the clinic politics, double-booking, or productivity pressure? Stern at Home Therapy is hiring a part-time Occupational Therapist to deliver one-on-one care in patients' homes across Poughkeepsie and the greater Dutchess County area, NY.

About Stern at Home Therapy:
We're a home therapy practice built around a simple belief: clinicians do their best work when they have real autonomy. Our OTs set their own schedules, treat one patient at a time, and have a dedicated admin team behind them handling the logistics. Whether you want a steady part-time caseload or true PRN flexibility, we've built this role to fit your life — not the other way around.

What the Job Looks Like:
You'll evaluate and treat a primarily geriatric population in their homes across Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, Wappingers Falls, Fishkill, and surrounding Dutchess County communities, creating and executing your own individualized treatment plans with full clinical autonomy. A dedicated admin team manages scheduling, documentation support, and coordination — you focus on the patient in front of you. Shadowing is available if you're newer to home health or just want to see the model before committing.

Our Stern Scheduling Assurance Plan backs up our promise to keep your caseload full: if we can't fill your schedule and can't replace a cancellation, you get paid for up to 2 cancellations per month.

Why OTs Choose This Role:
  • $55–$85 per visit, tiered — earn more as you take on more visits.
  • Set your own schedule — no minimums, no pressure.
  • One patient at a time — no double-booking, ever.
  • Full clinical autonomy over your treatment plans.
  • Fast onboarding — most clinicians start within 2 weeks.
  • Cancellation protection pay (up to 2/month).
  • Dedicated admin team handles the rest.
  • Shadowing available.

Benefits:
  • Medical stipend.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Student loan repayment program.
  • CEU support.
  • Commuter support package.
  • Quarterly wellness stipend.

What We're Looking For:
  • Active OT license in New York (required).
  • Reliable transportation (required).
  • Minimum 1 year of U.S. clinical experience (preferred).
  • CPR certification (preferred).
  • Home health experience preferred — not required.
  • Strong communication and bedside manner.

About Stern At Home Therapy:

Our mission is to provide superlative levels of patient therapy in the comfort of home. To support our mission, we emphasize on the compatibility of the very best in patient care, staff potential and partner value. Our patients: The antidote to ordinary therapy, our strategy focuses on improved performance and comfort throughout each custom therapy regimen. Our therapists: The very leaders of our vision, we place great emphasis on encouragement and comprehensive resources to influence the progress that our therapists provide. Our partners: The strategic enforcement of our practices ensure that every partner, medical associate and department is met with financial acuity and dependability of resources, revenue and commitment. PATIENT INITIATIVE: THEN AND NOWStern at Home Therapy originates from a larger agenda than its focused priorities of today. During its infancy, the founders at Stern created comprehensive outpatient services for seniors. One of the very early believers of personal care programs, Stern truly listened to his patients and their families. More than a service provider, he became a family name. A widespread challenge for patients was the commute and scheduling of ambulatory services to get to appointments. When inquiring about patient distress, the team at Stern made note of every concern and difficulty. They realized that more patients were negligent in their care because it was too difficult for them to come to the facility. So Stern came home and continues to do so for many years, and counting. While Stern at Home Therapy has become a treasure trove of white gloved care, the entire spectrum of geriatric health remains available for our patients to this very day. Although our mission is completely focused and driven by the reversal of obligation and convenience of care, our patients know we are always about helping with the bigger picture.
