POSITION SUMMARY
Wage: $32.00- $48.28
This PRN(fill-on or as needed) position provides evaluation, consultation, development, implementation, and management of occupational therapy in acute care, swing beds, home health, outpatient and long-term care settings, and contractual agreement services.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and provides occupational therapy services to include age, educational level, and culturally appropriate services to the patient/family.
Screens, evaluates and develop an appropriate plan of care for patients.
Administers day-to-day occupational therapy services to patients.
Completes discharge planning and care coordination with other healthcare system departments.
Maintains timely and appropriate documentation that reflects the care provided and follows regulatory requirements.
Establishes appropriate charges for services rendered.
Provides therapy services to inpatient, outpatient, home health, outreach and contract facilities as required by the Prairie Lakes Healthcare system.
Plans and coordinates patient care schedules to meet productivity standards.
Ensures equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
Supervises Certified OT Assistants in accordance with the state practice acts.
Participates in departmental quality and outcome studies.
Serves as a clinical instructor for OT, COTA, and high school students.
Performs other duties as assigned.
 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Previous experience with occupational therapy is desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Holds or is eligible for licensure or is a registered occupational therapist in the State of SD.
