Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT) Location: West Palm Beach, FL 33401 Schedule: Full-time, school-based/facility-based Position Overview Birch Agency is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a specialized educational facility in West Palm Beach, Florida that serves students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental needs.
This rewarding opportunity allows therapists to make a meaningful impact by helping students develop the functional, sensory, motor, and daily living skills necessary for greater independence and success both in and out of the classroom. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with educators, behavior specialists, speech-language pathologists, and families to support individualized student goals. Key Responsibilities
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine student needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students with autism and related disabilities.
Address areas including:
Fine motor development
Sensory processing and regulation
Visual-motor integration
Self-help and daily living skills
Functional participation in classroom activities
Collaborate with teachers, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), speech-language pathologists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding occupational therapy services.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and service records.
Adapt classroom materials and environments to support student access and participation.
Educate staff and families regarding therapeutic strategies that promote student success.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program preferred.
Active Florida Occupational Therapist license required.
Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred.
School-based, pediatric, behavioral health, or developmental disabilities experience highly preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of sensory integration strategies and autism-specific interventions preferred.
