Job Description:

-Assesses individuals physical, communication and cognitive skills to develop and implement a treatment plan.

-Serves as a member of a treatment team; attend care plan meetings, communicates occupational therapy treatment plans to family members.-Administers occupational therapy programs and provide treatment to individuals with more complicated occupational therapy needs. -Selects, trains, and monitors adaptive techniques and equipment; regularly inspects and ensures maintenance of equipment. -Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental ADL. -Teach individuals new ways of approaching tasks and educate on how to break down activities into achievable components. -Assist individuals’ exercise for pain relief.

-Observe and review individuals’ progress and adapt treatment accordingly.

-Supervises and trains Occupational Therapy Assistants.

-Evaluates and initiates skilled Occupational Therapy treatments, in accordance with provider orders.

-Maintains communication with providers.

-Performs and completes paperwork and billing in a timely manner.

-Participates with interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.

-Updates Resident’s care plan when changes are noted.

-Participates with discharge planning and home assessments.

-Participates with identifying and ordering equipment needed.

-Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants, reviews, and cosigns paperwork.

-Professional interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and families.

-Attends to responsibilities of the Director of Rehab in their absence.
