Occupational Therapists (OT)

Conduct comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy evaluations and reevaluations using clinical observation, caregiver input, standardized assessments, and professional judgment.
Develop individualized plans of care, measurable functional goals, and appropriate treatment recommendations based on evaluation findings.
Provide engaging, child-centered occupational therapy interventions addressing fine motor skills, sensory processing/regulation, visual-motor integration, coordination, self-care, play, attention, and participation in age-appropriate daily activities.
Monitor patient progress and modify goals, treatment approaches, and plans of care as clinically appropriate.
Complete evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, reevaluations, and discharge documentation accurately and within Speech of Miami's required timeframes.
Provide caregiver education and home exercise/activity recommendations to promote carryover outside of therapy.
Collaborate with SLPs, COTAs, teachers, caregivers, physicians, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
Provide appropriate supervision and clinical direction to COTAs, including reviewing patient progress and modifying the intervention plan when necessary. The OTR retains overall responsibility for the OT plan of care.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, professional standards, payer requirements, and Speech of Miami policies.
Maintain an active Florida Occupational Therapist license and remain current with continuing education and professional requirements.
Communicate professionally and promptly with families, office staff, and other members of the care team.
Maintain a safe, organized, supportive, and developmentally appropriate therapy environment.
Participate in team collaboration and contribute to Speech of Miami's multidisciplinary, family-centered approach to pediatric care.
