Job Summary and Qualifications
We are currently looking for an ambitious Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. As a COTA on our team, you will assist with the coordination of patient-centered and occupational-based goals to ensure diagnostic and therapeutic services and rehabilitation, which are provided to our patients. If you are dedicated to caring for the well-being of others, this could be your next opportunity. Your duties and responsibilities may include:
• Accurately follow established treatment plans to set measurable and achievable goals to reach maximum functional independence for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). • Record, monitor, and review clinical data, providing feedback to the Occupational Therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plans and goals based upon patient performance. • Within the scope of practice and under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient. • Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively affect overall patient experience.
Requirements
• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. • Experience in an appropriate healthcare setting, acute-care setting preferred. • Clear, active Florida Department of Health licensure (OTAC). • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. • PC skills. • Ability to lift 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
