The primary responsibility of the Occupational Therapy Assistant I is to provide direct patient care under the direction of a qualified occupational therapist upon physician referral.
Required Skills
1. Ability to perform patient care, utilizing correct body mechanics.
2. Competent to treat a variety of diagnoses who may be infants, children, adults or older adults.
3. Basic splinting skills.
4. Basic Windows and mouse skills preferred.
Required Experience
1. Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
2. Registered or eligible for registration as an occupational therapy assistant by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) and the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
3. Current California occupational therapy assistant license, or be a license applicant and must receive license within 90 days.
4. CPR certification
5. No experience required.
