IJN Health Systems, LLC is a Skilled Home Health Agency is looking for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team of strong, compassionate caregivers to provide therapy services. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, engaged, and dependable.


 


Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Home Health, PRN or Part-Time


 


Job Description:


  • Enhances the physical abilities and skills of patients in their homes by assisting in the protocols of screening
  • Implementing treatment for all assigned patients
  • Providing treatment to reach identified objectives according to the established treatment plan
  • Precisely documenting progress toward goals and communicating patient status and needs to the supervising therapist, patients, and the patient's family
  • Competently assists occupational therapists in the survey of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within the scope of practice permitted by the Occupational Therapy Practice Act of the practicing state
·        Educate the patient and/or caregivers to enhance functional independence.


·        · Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.


·        · Maintain compliance with appropriate therapy minutes, therapy intensity, and productivity standards on a daily basis.


·        · Work as scheduled, ready to devote full attention and energy to the important work of the hospital.


·        · Performs other duties as requested by the Supervisor.



Requirements:



Experience:


·        Required Experience: Minimum of one year working in home health or with the elderly population or Nursing Home- 


  • Home Health: 1 year (Required), but will consider 6 months of experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) therapy program – New grads welcome

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in EMR / EHR use
 


Education:


· Required Education: Successful program completion approved by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.


 


  • Current State COTA  License / Certification (Required)
