Job Summary

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role includes implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and supporting patients in improving independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
  • Assist patients with activities focused on improving daily living and functional independence
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and adaptive strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
  • Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehabilitation

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • SNF/long-term care experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current occupational therapy treatment practices
  • Familiarity with Net Health electronic documentation system preferred
