Weber State University is seeking to establish an open pool of qualified applicants for future as-needed, hourly lab assistant and program consultant positions within the Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

This pool will be used to fill roles as they arise to assist with hands-on laboratory courses in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Bachelor of Science program, beginning in Fall 2026.

In addition to laboratory support, individuals in this pool may serve as consultants to provide an Occupational Therapy Assistant perspective during the development and implementation of the OTA-B program.

Candidates should demonstrate a willingness and ability to advise OTA-B students as needed. Applications will be kept on file to meet program needs as specific openings or instructional requirements develop.

Candidates must hold current COTA certification and appropriate state licensure; please note that this pool is restricted to COTAs and is not open to Occupational Therapists (OTRs).

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science or Applied Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assisting (AAS-OTA) or a Bachelors of Science in a healthcare related field, is required.

Must have at least 2 years of clinical experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License in the state of Utah is required. (OTR does not qualify for this position).

License in good standing as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Utah (or eligible for by start date).

Preferred Qualifications

5+ Years of Clinical Experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Advanced training and/or experience in Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Physical Agent Modalities

Clinical and or/teaching experience in Adult Physical Dysfunction, Mental Health and/or Psychosocial Occupational Therapy.
