Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to provide high-quality therapeutic services to pediatric clients with a variety of developmental and physical needs.
The ideal candidate is energetic, patient, team-oriented, and passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients
- Conduct therapeutic activities that support fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, daily living skills, and overall functional development
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates, concerns, and observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Educate families and caregivers on treatment goals, therapeutic strategies, and home activities to support continued progress outside of therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment sessions, and progress notes
- Ensure therapy sessions are engaging, safe, and developmentally appropriate
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive patient care
- Maintain professionalism and uphold patient confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
Qualifications
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required
- Active state licensure/certification in good standing
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pediatric therapeutic techniques
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with children and families
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
- Passion for helping children achieve developmental and functional goals
