Join Our Team as an Occupational Therapist at a Leading Level II Trauma Center!
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist seeking a dynamic and rewarding opportunity in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting? We are currently recruiting a dedicated professional for a full-time 26-week contract at an award-winning Level II Trauma Center. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions for patients with various acute conditions, including neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, surgical, ICU, and joint replacement cases.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 78 patients per shift, prioritizing timely and effective care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and rehabilitation.
- Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and document patient progress efficiently.
- Assist with late joint cases on a rotation schedule, ensuring smooth workflow and patient continuity.
- Perform patient transfers with lines and drains, handling acutely ill diagnoses with confidence and professionalism.
- Participate in daily huddles and team meetings to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid Occupational Therapist license (KSBHA required).
- NBCOT certification preferred.
- BLS certification required within the first 90 days if not already available.
- Proven experience in an acute care hospital environment.
- Comfort with treating complex, acutely ill patients.
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced setting.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Familiarity with transferring patients with lines and drains.
- Previous exposure to trauma or Level II trauma center settings.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- At least 1 year of relevant acute care experience.
- Certification in NBCOT is highly valued.
Other Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working in an acute hospital environment with complex medical conditions.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with professionalism.
- No first-time travelers; candidates must have relevant experience.
- Willingness to participate in occasional late joint rotations as scheduled.
