Openwork is seeking an experienced Ocean Export Agent for an established international logistics company in Houston, TX 77073.
We're looking for a freight-forwarding professional with proven, hands-on Ocean Export experience who can manage international shipments from booking through vessel departure.
Direct Ocean Export experience is required for consideration.
Opportunity Details:
Location: Houston, TX 77073.
Pay:$24.00 – $25.00 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Overtime & Weekends: Occasional, based on business needs.
Employment Type: Full-Time.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage ocean export shipments from booking through vessel departure.
- Book freight with ocean carriers and NVOCCs.
- Confirm sailing schedules, routing, cutoffs, and equipment availability.
- Coordinate with truckers, warehouses, terminals, carriers, customers, and overseas offices.
- Track shipments and resolve delays or service issues.
- Provide customers with shipment and documentation updates.
- Maintain accurate shipment records.
- Assist with invoicing and file closeout.
- Ensure shipments meet customer, carrier, and destination-country requirements.
Ocean Export Documentation:
Prepare and review:
- Bills of Lading.
- Commercial Invoices.
- Packing Lists.
- Export Declarations.
- Shipping Instructions.
- Certificates and supporting export documents.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven, hands-on Ocean Export experience – required.
- 3+ years of ocean freight-forwarding or international logistics experience.
- Experience managing ocean exports from booking through departure.
- Strong knowledge of ocean export documentation and procedures.
- Experience with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, truckers, terminals, and overseas offices.
- Knowledge of Incoterms.
- Experience with freight-forwarding or logistics systems.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, accounts, and deadlines.
- Strong organization, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

- Japan trade lane experience.
- International or overseas office coordination.
- Hazardous cargo procedures.
- High-volume freight-forwarding operations.
