Position Summary

DIHO Consulting is currently recruiting an experienced Ocean Export Manager for a client in the Houston area. This position will oversee ocean export operations, lead and support the export team, and ensure international shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily ocean export operations and department workflow.
• Lead, train, and support Ocean Export Coordinators and operational staff.
• Coordinate FCL and LCL export shipments from booking through final destination.
• Work with steamship lines, trucking providers, overseas agents, customers, and vendors.
• Review bookings, routing, rates, Bills of Lading, and export documentation.
• Monitor shipments and resolve delays, documentation issues, and operational exceptions.
• Maintain compliance with U.S. export requirements and internal procedures.
• Manage carrier and vendor relationships.
• Handle escalated customer and shipment issues.
• Monitor productivity, service levels, operational performance, and profitability.
• Work closely with sales, customer service, accounting, and other operational teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous ocean export and international freight-forwarding experience required.
• Supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FCL/LCL ocean export operations.
• Knowledge of international shipping documentation and U.S. export requirements.
• Strong leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Experience with freight-forwarding or transportation management systems preferred.
