Job Location: Washington DC (Remote - Quarterly travel required for PI Planning (Washington, D.C. or Wilmington, DE)

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Supplier Management & Process Improvement professional to assess, standardize, and transform supplier management processes across the organization. This role will focus on improving supplier lifecycle governance, digitizing manual workflows, strengthening supplier risk and performance management, and driving adoption of standardized tools, processes, and ways of working.

The ideal candidate will have experience in supplier/vendor management, procurement operations, process improvement, digital transformation, governance, change management, and stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current supplier management processes, manual workflows, trackers, tools, templates, and reporting practices to identify gaps, risks, duplication, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate working sessions with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, validate processes, review dashboard needs, and support adoption of new tools and templates.
  • Document current-state and future-state workflows and support the digitization and streamlining of manual supplier management activities.
  • Help establish centralized digital solutions and align supplier management processes with new ways of working and organizational portfolios.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, communications, and user guides to support consistent adoption of supplier management processes and tools.
  • Create and standardize templates, playbooks, checklists, process maps, and operating procedures for SOWs, RFIs, RFPs, SOPs, supplier intake, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting models to improve visibility into:
    • Supplier selection and evaluation
    • Supplier onboarding
    • Contract status and renewals
    • Supplier performance trends
    • Risk indicators
    • Compliance requirements
    • Open actions and remediation activities
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, and other business stakeholders to strengthen supplier selection oversight, including evaluation criteria, scoring guidance, decision documentation, and alignment with sourcing processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of a supplier performance management framework, including KPIs, scorecards, governance cadence, escalation paths, and continuous improvement routines.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend controls to ensure supplier documentation, approvals, contract artifacts, security requirements, and policy requirements are complete, current, and audit-ready.
  • Support vendor risk and financial management activities, including the development of remediation plans and escalation of supplier issues.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies to support adoption of supplier management processes and tools.
  • Develop stakeholder communications and build trusted relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting supplier management, vendor management, procurement operations, process improvement, digital transformation, or related governance initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of the supplier and contract lifecycle, including:
    • Supplier intake
    • Sourcing and selection
    • RFI/RFP processes
    • SOW development
    • Onboarding
    • Performance management
    • Risk and compliance management
    • Renewals
    • Offboarding
  • Demonstrated ability to convert manual processes into structured, repeatable digital workflows with clear governance, ownership, and controls.
  • Experience developing dashboards, metrics, scorecards, and reporting routines using tools such as Tableau, Jira, Confluence, Figma, Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting RFI/RFP activities, statement of work development, supplier evaluation, supplier governance forums, or supplier performance reviews.
  • Experience with vendor risk management and financial management.
  • Ability to develop remediation plans, manage issues, and support escalation processes.
  • Strong understanding of process standardization, continuous improvement, and governance methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and organizational change management practices.

Certifications or credentials in one or more of the following are preferred:

  • SAFe
  • Prosci
  • Kotter Change Management
  • PMP
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • CIPS/MCIPS or other Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply credentials
