Description:  

The Water Treatment OEM Engineer is responsible for supporting Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) by providing technical expertise, system design guidance, product integration support, and application engineering for water treatment solutions. This role bridges engineering, sales, product management, and customers to ensure successful specification, integration, and performance of water treatment technologies within OEM systems. Works with the Equipment Team (EQT) to ensure Chemical Delivery Systems (CDS) are manufactured to quality specifications. Will Conduct Chemical Delivery System Site surveys, installation, setup, testing, and training with Account Managers at customer locations. Plans, prepares, organizes and maintains OEM/ISO project documentation. OEM projects also include research and development for new and current CDS revisions. Will work with ERP software to develop and maintain required batch manufacturing data. This position requires creating and maintaining reports as well as carrying out other liaison-related duties as necessary.


Responsibilities:

·        Provides 3-1 tasks and project list; checks email, voicemail, and order inboxes daily.

·        Develop OEM projects under the direction of the Director of Sales and provide weekly project updates; research and development is part of this process.

·        Assist in new product development initiatives based on EQT, Account Manager, and customer feedback and market needs.

·        Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to ensure product compatibility and availability.

·        Help prepare CDS project proposals, timeframes, schedules, pricing, and budgets.

·        Assist with system sizing, design calculations, and equipment selection (e.g., filtration, softening, RO, boiler, cooling tower, and chemical delivery systems).

·        Provide technical support to account managers for water treatment system integration.

·        Review OEM drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to ensure proper application of water treatment systems.

·        Troubleshoot system performance issues and provide corrective recommendations, to include onsite as necessary.

·        Serve as the primary technical liaison between the company, manufacturers, vendors, and assigned account managers.

·        Liaison duties include coordinating activities, resources, equipment and information; meeting with commercial water treatment clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives; making certain that clients’ needs are met as the project evolves.

·        Develop and conduct technical training for EQT and Sales Team.

·        Act as the point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants ensuring that written and verbal communication is properly distributed among EQT, Account Managers, vendors, suppliers, and customers aiming for flawless project execution.

·        Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports.

·        Ensure projects meet regulatory and compliance requirements (NSF, CFR, EPA, etc.).

·        Support RFP/RFQ responses with technical specifications, performance data, and pricing.

·        Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as a technical subject matter expert.

·        Report and escalate issues to Director of Operations as needed.

 

Requirements:

·        2+ years previous commercial water treatment experience.

·        Proficiency in system sizing and performance calculations.

·        Knowledge of water chemistry fundamentals.

·        Understanding of pump sizing, flow rates, pressure drop, and system hydraulics.

·        Working knowledge of industry standards and certifications (NSF, ASME, ANSI, etc.).

·        Strong communication and presentation skills.

·        Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product, and operations teams.

·        Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

·        Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·        Willingness to travel (10–25% depending on role).

·        Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

·        Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

·        Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and of project management tools.

·        Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

·        Strong mechanical aptitude.
