Position Description
Setup up and operate various equipment used in bending, drilling, sawing, or forming copper, brass, and copper-nickel parts. Making adjustments necessary to comply with drawings, quality, and methods, procedures.
Overtime is generally optional; however, mandatory overtime is required, i.e., >8 hours daily and/or >40 hour work weeks.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate various equipment used in bending, drilling, sawing, or forming parts. • Setup up various equipment used in bending, drilling, sawing, or forming parts. • Inspect first production piece of each run and inspect at random during production run. • Record required information, count employee I.D., etc. on work orders. • Clean work stations and equipment at the end of shift. • Various departmental equipment such as saws, drill presses, benders, swagers, etc. • Various hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. • Measuring devices. • Requires math reading of simple and complicated drawings and reading of various measuring devices. • Must recognize malfunction of equipment vs. improper setup when products do not agree with drawings. • Requires 12-18 months experience to achieve competent performance for 90% of jobs.
Required Education & Qualifications
Lifts and carries from 5-50 pounds approximately 30 times daily. Items lifted internal to operation vary from few ounces to 5 pounds. Occasional stooping and bending required.
