Job Details:

Purpose

The Graduate Assistant for Off-Campus Living & Signature Events supports student success by coordinating off-campus living resources and experiences that empower students to thrive beyond the university. This position will also support Dean of Students events and play a collaboration role with many of our signature events. 

  • Hours to be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Off-Campus Coordinator with off-campus tasks, projects and programs.
  • Serve as a facilitator for off-campus living presentations to students/family/community members.
  • Assist with keeping track of the presentation schedule and monitoring presentation requests.
  • Coordinate and hold meetings with campus and community partners especially those related to property outreach initiatives.
  • Create off-campus living materials such as guides for off-campus students and content for communications campaigns.
  • Help plan and coordinate events tailored to students and provide day of support for large-scale Dean of Students events.
  • Serve as an Office of the Dean of Students representative at tabling events such as resource fairs.
  • The Graduate Assistants will collaborate as a member of the Office of the Dean of Students team, attend departmental meetings as available, and assist with other unit initiatives as appropriate and needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student (master’s level preferred) taking at least 9 hours.
  • Experience working with student development programs as well as a program planning background (including experiences as an undergraduate and/or graduate student).
  • A desire to work with students and community members in a public-facing capacity.
  • Ability to facilitate presentations to small and large groups.
  • Experience in community outreach on a one-on-one and community meeting setting.
  • Experience working with a multitude of student populations.
  • Experience in program and event planning.
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Experience with Microsoft products and the ability to learn applications quickly
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other experience/skills as relevant to specific position responsibilities   

Salary Range

$19.33 per hour

Working Conditions

Typical office environment;Onsite at the SSB;
