Off‑Highway Vehicle Electrical Systems Engineer

Compensation: $50.68/hour (typical U.S. base pay range: $50.68 – $50.68/hr)

A day in this role

You’ll be the go‑to engineer shaping the electrical backbone of riding lawn mowers and select compact utility tractors. Your mornings might start with refining system requirements alongside program management; afternoons could find you reviewing wiring harness routings in 3D CAD, syncing with suppliers on component integration, or supporting a build on the shop floor. Throughout, you’ll bridge hardware, software, and manufacturability to move product concepts to production‑ready systems.

What you’ll own

• Translate needs from cross‑functional partners into clear hardware/software electrical system requirements.
• Design, develop, and release complete vehicle electrical systems, including harnesses, into the production system.
• Create and maintain accurate bills of material (BOM) for vehicle electrical assemblies.
• Collaborate with external suppliers on feasibility, development, and seamless component integration.
• Provide hands‑on build support at key milestones throughout the product development lifecycle.

What you bring

• 3+ years in vehicle electrical system design, integration, or validation.
• Practical experience with electrical components, wiring harnesses, and schematics, plus strong understanding of HW/SW interactions.
• Proven ownership of project deliverables and schedules.
• Working knowledge of end‑to‑end product development processes.
• Self‑starter with excellent time management and crisp written/verbal communication.
• Willingness to support off‑shift production builds as needed.

Bonus skills

• Background in agriculture or other off‑highway vehicle development.
• Experience building and managing BOMs for vehicles or test systems.
• Embedded product V&V exposure, including software development or test scripting for SIL/HiL environments.
• 3D CAD proficiency for wiring harness and electrical system design.
• Project leadership and onboarding/mentoring experience, including coordinating remote contributors.
• Advanced cross‑disciplinary engineering training and familiarity with systems engineering practices.

Pay transparency and benefits

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $50.68 – $50.68 per hour. This is a non‑exempt position eligible for overtime at 1.5x the base hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, or as otherwise required by state/local law. Final offers within the stated range reflect relevant skills, education, and experience.
