Off-site Aquarium Biologist

Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is seeking a motivated Offsite Aquarium Biologist to provide exceptional care for aquatic animals while maintaining offsite aquarium exhibits throughout the local area.

\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

What You\ll Do:

\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Provide daily husbandry and health monitoring for fish and invertebrates

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Maintain aquarium exhibits and life support systems

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Perform water quality testing, exhibit cleaning, and routine maintenance

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Travel locally to service offsite aquarium installations

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Assist with exhibit installations, relocations, and planning

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Maintain accurate animal care and maintenance records

\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

What Wee Looking For:

\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Bachelor\s degree in Marine Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Experience in a public aquarium, zoo, or similar animal care facility

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Valid Florida Driver\s License (or ability to obtain one within 30 days)

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Open Water SCUBA Certification (or ability to become an active dive team member within 6 months)

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Strong knowledge of aquatic animal husbandry, aquarium life support systems, and water quality

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team

\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

This full-time exempt position includes weekday hours with rotating weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as needed.
