POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for effectively assisting food and beverage services and aiding in the overall logistics of the banquet events by way of set-up, clear communication, teamwork and break down/clean up of events while maintaining the company’s standard for excellence. Furthermore, it requires the individual to be accommodating to all guests while circulating the room/venue anticipating the needs of the guests and responding politely to their requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inclusive of but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
Maintain a professional appearance and mannerism.
Maintain sense of urgency when on the service floor.
Maintain back of the house, front of the house and side work duties for overall
productivity of catering events.
Assist with collecting all event equipment, including but not limited to, flatware, china,
glassware, serving utensils, sternos, chafers, etc.
Assist with preparation, set-up and break down of event space
Comply with Health Department rules & regulations
Provide friendly and courteous service at all times
Remain present and available during the entirety of the event
Clean and return event equipment to proper storage location after each event
Adhere to strict grooming standards
Adhere to all company policies
Adhere to all state and local laws
Reliable transportation to and from event venues within 50 miles of Asheville
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service
Positive customer service oriented attitude
Strong knowledge of food and beverage sanitation practices
Sense of urgency and commitment to quality
Able to undertake and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Banquet or Off-Site Catering experience required
Knowledge of catering services and terminology
Must speak and understand English well enough to converse with customers
teammates and supervisors
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 15 pounds, occasionally
lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds, rarely lifting/pushing/pulling objects up
to 75 pounds (with assistance)
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Manual dexterity to handle food service equipment such as utensils, plates, etc
Ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment
