    Description

    Position Summary

    The Office Assistant provides essential support to the company’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Compliance Officer. This role helps set up and coordinate safety programs across all operating companies.

    Essential Functions and Basic Duties

    • Data & Records: Perform data entry, handle email correspondence, and maintain active company permits.
    • Documentation: Update HACCP documentation and paperwork for multiple operating facilities in Hawaii.
    • Training & Media: Maintain online safety training, SOP training, Forklift, and First Aid certifications. Create training videos and PowerPoint presentations on SOPs, GMPs, PPE, and food safety for staff.
    • Compliance & Logistics: Track shipping, order supplies, maintain the annual vendor verification program, and input data into the Food Safety Management Builder.
    • Reporting: Accumulate and file bi-weekly uploads of Bluefin and Swordfish data to the NOAA website. Assist with gathering FDA import documentation and establishing new FSMA traceability requirements.
    • General Support: File documents, create and maintain spreadsheets, and complete other tasks as needed.
    • Certification: Obtain HACCP certification after the probation period. Travel is needed between facilities.

    Qualification Requirements

    • Minimum Education: High School diploma.
    • Preferred Education: Associate degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient with computers, Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and general office equipment (copiers, scanners, fax machines).

    Working Conditions & Demands

    • Environment: Normal office conditions with occasional time spent in processing facilities, warehouses, and chill/frozen storage. Travel is required.
    • Schedule: Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays (35–40 hours per week). Occasionally irregular or longer hours as needed.???????
