OFFICE ASSISTANT FOR ADMINISTRATIVE & PUPIL AUDITING

Position Details

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Office experience, with school office experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of computers and software applications, especially with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct or support audits.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation to the business office before expiration of said document(s).
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
  • Must have regular and reliable job attendance, performance and the physical ability to do the job.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide clerical support on a wide variety of topics and special projects, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature, to successful completion within the required timelines for the Office of the Superintendent.
  • Prepare professional development and purchase card paperwork for approval by the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent.
  • Provide back up support for needs related to the ISD Board of Education and County School Board Association.
  • Provide support in coordinating needs related to truancy and updating the county truancy guidelines.
  • Gather and maintain knowledge of the requirements for state reporting, pupil accounting, and pupil auditing to assist in pupil auditing requirements.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of gathering information required to perform functions associated with pupil accounting and auditing.
  • Assist and back up the SCECH Coordinator, as needed.
  • Assist and back up other ISD Office Assistants, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by St. Joseph County ISD Administration.
  • Due to this being a new position, the responsibilities of this role will continue to evolve over time with an annual review to ensure alignments with organizational needs and priorities.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS: Administrative & Pupil Auditing Manager

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A 240-day position. Salary and conditions of employment are determined by the Board of Education.
