Our Neurology Sleep Practice is seeking an experienced Office Assistantto coordinate and carry out all administrative functions for the practice. Tasks include, but are not limited to, patientscheduling, patient registration, patient billing, general customer service and general administrativesupport to physicians. Overviewofresponsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to: Greet and check-in patients while verifying demographic, insurance, and referral information. Register patients accurately, verify insurance eligibility, and collect required forms, co-pays, and payments. Provide friendly customer service by answering questions, assisting patients, and communicating appointment delays. Process patient check-out, collect encounter forms and additional fees, and schedule follow-up appointments and diagnostic services. Enter outpatient orders, recalls, and patient information accurately into electronic medicalrecordsand order entry systems. Verify encounter forms, enter charges, batch daily payments, and support timely insurance billing and reimbursement. Answer phones professionally, schedule appointments, physician activities, meetings, and maintain daily office calendars. Prepare patient charts, pre-register appointments, maintain medical records, referrals, physician orders, and no-show logs. Perform administrative duties including filing, mail distribution, maintaining supplies and equipment, and documenting meeting minutes. Participate in staff meetings, training, and other assigned duties while keeping supervisors informed of operational needs. Qualifications: Education:High School Graduate Experience:Two years experience in a physicians office or similar environment; experience in Spanish/English medical/health interpreting preferred; experience working with third partypayorsand working knowledge of ICD-9 andHCPCcodingpreferred Special Aptitudes Activities:Blingual in English/Spanish preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; typing, transcription and filing skills; ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions;organization skills; attention to detail; computer skills; ability to handle multiple tasks.
