Office Assistant - Hospice- FT

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Receives incoming telephone calls in a positive, helpful manner. Prioritizes calls as received and ensures immediate response as appropriate.
  • Greets and directs visitors.
  • Provides callers with information such as company address, directions, fax numbers, website, and other related information.
  • Receives, sorts and forwards incoming mail and routes publications.
  • Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail service (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
  • Completes data entry of memorials/donations into agency data base, acknowledges donor, and prepares deposits.
  • Performs clerical support tasks relative to the needs of the agency.
  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Detail oriented, multi-tasking, and prioritizing in fast paced setting w/constant interruptions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of general office functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Basic medical terminology/Experience in Medical Environment

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • KS Driver's License
  • Auto Insurance equal to or greater than the KS Ins. Requirement.
