General Information & Responsibilities
The evening Office Assistant I provides general receptionist duties and assistance for instructors at the Adult Learning Center (ALC).
Description of Duties
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
a. Provides reception services to ALC visitors and students.
b. Accepts all incoming phone calls, provides individuals with accurate information, and takes messages for appropriate staff/instructors.
c. Performs assessment testing for Adult Education students.
d. Assists in registration for evening students.
e. Secures building in the evening.
f. Performs clerical duties as assigned including but not limited to copying, collating materials for instructors, filing, faxing, and preparing correspondence and forms.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
a. Serves as backup for data entry using student information systems (Banner and DAISI) for student registrations, testing, attendance, and progress as required by grants.
b. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
a. Reports directly to Adult Learning Center Coordinator.
b. Works directly with ALC staff and faculty.
c. Works directly with the students and visitors.
d. Works cooperatively with all Adult Education and PaCE program staff and faculty and other College-wide employees.
e. Works cooperatively with community agencies as needed.
Education & Experience
(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
a. High school diploma or equivalent required.
b. One year office/receptionist experience preferred. Three years of office experience desirable.
c. Strong verbal communication skills required.
d. Ability to maintain confidential information required.
e. Ability to work with diverse populations required.
f. Computer experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
