UPMC Williamsport has a Full-Time Office Assistant II, Lead opening in our Orthopedics Department!

Hours: Full-Time 40 hours per week

Shift: Monday thru Friday 7:30am-5:00pm

Purpose:

Assist with the day to day functions of the physician office. Serve as the office contact to assist with decisions/trouble shooting regarding patient, provider or staff issues/concerns. Provide physician support and customer service including secretarial, clerical and reception duties in the front office area.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees staff in the performance of their duties, working to develop the staff to best meet the needs of the practice.
  • Manages an effective and efficient patient flow in collaboration with providers, clinical staff and clerical staff.
  • Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involving patient safety. Understand that patient safety is everyone's responsibility. Assume responsibility for personal education and performance related to patient safety; report unsafe conditions or events immediately; speak up in a non confrontational and educational manner when seeing a safety breech; develop or participate in a project or action plan to reduce risk or mitigate harm for patients, as appropriate.

  • Acts at the point person for communication between providers, clinical staff, clerical staff and management staff.
  • Serves in the role of Office Assistant II, by scheduling appointments, filing reports, letters and test results and assisting with financial billing responsibilities.
  • High School Diploma
  • 4 years of experience

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
