Part-Time Office Assistant

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Part-Time Office Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of their Southfield, MI office. This position will serve as a welcoming point of contact for employees, visitors, vendors, and guests while helping maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workplace.
The ideal candidate is organized, professional, proactive, and comfortable handling a variety of administrative and office support responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Administrative Support
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to employees, visitors, vendors, and guests.
- Monitor and respond to visitors at the reception desk, including answering the locked office/suite door.
- Assist with mail, packages, deliveries, printing, shipping, and general office services.
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams for day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Manage Outlook calendars and assist with scheduling meetings.
- Provide general administrative support to the Office Administrator.
- Canva experience is a plus.
Office & Workplace Support
- Complete daily morning checks of conference rooms, kitchen, and common areas to ensure they are clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the day.
- Maintain coffee stations, breakrooms, conference rooms, and shared office spaces.
- Stock and replenish coffee, beverages, snacks, paper products, utensils, and office supplies.
- Assist with ordering and receiving office and hospitality supplies.
- Clean and reset conference rooms following meetings, including wiping down tables, removing food and beverages, and storing leftovers appropriately.
- Identify and communicate facility, maintenance, housekeeping, or equipment concerns.
Meetings & Events
- Assist the Office Administrator with office events, meetings, lunches, and employee activities.
- Coordinate or assist with catering and Instacart orders.
- Prepare conference rooms and common areas for meetings and events.
- Set up and clean up after meetings and events.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous office administration, reception, customer service, hospitality, or workplace support experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience with Canva is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workplace.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities.
- Dependable and comfortable interacting with employees, visitors, and vendors.
