Office Manager - Academic and Student Affairs

Position: Office Manager, Academic Affairs and Student Affairs

Classification: Full-Time, Staff Member, 52-Week

Supervisor: Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs and for Student Affairs

Supervises: Staff as assigned

Basic Function: The Office Manager oversees operations in Academic Affairs and Student Affairs as directed by the respective Vice Presidents. This includes managing communications and scheduling for the Vice Presidents, as well as implementing a range of systems and processes for the departments' functioning.

Responsibilities

  • Implement processes in Academic Affairs

  • Project management, including transfer of credit and financial and other approval processes, among others

  • Communication with students concerning academic information

  • Coordination of academic events and meetings

  • Annual academic catalog revision

  • Accreditation processes

  • Records maintenance, including Academic Affairs faculty files

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Academic Affairs

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the Academic Affairs Department

  • Collaborate with faculty

  • Work closely with other Academic Affairs staff on operational and strategic projects

  • Coordinate with Aldersgate Christian Academy as needed

  • Coordinate key events

  • New Student Orientation

  • Commencement

  • Accreditation-related events

  • Strategic-planning events

  • Other events as assigned

  • Implement processes in Student Affairs

  • Communication with new students regarding Student Affairs processes and new student information.

  • Coordination and/or assistance with various Student Affairs activities and events (Job Fair, picnics, New

  • Student Orientation, Student Government events, etc.)

  • Communication with students concerning SA information

  • Serve as a core staff member

  • Appropriately contribute to the intellectual, spiritual and social life of campus

  • Serve on institutional committees as assigned

  • Engage in GBSC's spiritual life

Required Qualifications and Traits

  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, maintaining a vibrant and healthy personal relationship with God
  • Understand and support GBSC's mission and goals
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative skills, including effective communication (written and spoken)
  • Exhibit excellent ability to follow tasks through to successful completion
  • Give evidence of administrative ability and capacity
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the office environment
  • Understand FERPA regulations and the necessity of confidentiality regarding student information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An earned bachelor's degree or higher
  • Administrative/office experience
  • Experience using office software, especially Google applications
  • Strong emotional intelligence/people skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at working collaboratively to accomplish goals
