    Position Overview:

    The Office of Educator Preparation and Partnerships (formerly the STEP Office) seeks a Student Worker/Office Assistant to provide clerical and office support to OEPP through routine administrative activities.

    The student will be required to maintain the confidentiality of information entrusted to the staff in the office. The student must protect all confidential information regarding students, faculty, staff, cooperating teachers, and supervisors.

    Responsibilities: Office Support

    • Assist office staff with projects and daily operations

    • Verify data in the database for accuracy reports

    • Creation, maintenance, or entry of data in spreadsheets and databases

    • Collate packets and/or files, track materials

    • Distribute mail

    • Answer phones, respond to emails, and assist students

    • Deliver materials to offices across campus

    • Research information as needed

    Learning Objectives:

    • Develop customer service and interpersonal skills

    • Develop skills working with various types of data

    • Improve organizational skills

    Required Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of computer software applications, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Apps

    • Must have exceptional organizational skills and able to pay close attention to detail

    • Able to work with others and engage with anyone who comes into the office

    • Able to work autonomously and take instruction

    • Must be flexible, dependable, and accountable for actions

    • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

    • Ability to multitask and navigate multiple projects simultaneously

    • Ability to assist internal/external callers with information pertaining to OEPP processes and procedures

    • Willingness to learn new computer software

    • Ability to learn how to use office machines such as a fax/copy machine and multiple-line phones

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with spreadsheets and databases

    • Experience with AI (including for personal use)

    • Experience using Canva and Wordpress
