Quist Middle School is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Office Paraprofessional to join our team!
As one of the first people students, families, and visitors encounter, the Office Paraprofessional is the face of Quist Middle School and plays a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and positive first impression. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about providing exceptional service to our school community.
Primary responsibilities include supporting the Principal Secretary with daily front office operations, answering phones, greeting and assisting visitors, managing attendance, communicating with families regarding student absences, helping families with student check-in and check-out, entering and maintaining student data, sorting mail, preparing copies, and completing a variety of clerical tasks. This position also provides support to the Registrar and Health Office, assisting with student health needs, medications, and other office responsibilities as needed.

SALARY: Classified Grade I, $19.34 per hour to start, depending on recent relevant experience. 10 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday on the 9-month work calendar, paid over 12 months. Position is eligible for benefits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accurate student attendance records by entering attendance data into the student information system, generating attendance reports, issuing tardy slips, and preparing student passes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering multi-line phone systems, directing calls, taking messages, greeting visitors, and assisting students, families, and staff.
- Monitor student attendance by contacting families regarding absences, excessive absences, and truancy concerns in accordance with school procedures.
- Support daily office operations by assisting with mail distribution, sorting and preparing documents, newsletters, filing, data organization, and record maintenance.
- Prepare instructional and administrative materials by making copies, collating documents, assembling packets, and completing special office projects as assigned.
- Assist with student health needs by providing basic first aid, administering medications according to district guidelines, monitoring ill students, and supporting the school secretary with health office responsibilities.
- Complete a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, including processing work orders, organizing office materials, and supporting the efficient operation of the front office.
- Prepare and organize materials for school communication by counting, sorting, and distributing papers to be sent home with students, as well as maintaining bulletin boards.
- Type correspondence, forms, and reports. May translate letters, memos, newsletters, and other school communications between English and Spanish.
- Prepare and maintain cumulative folders, health records, and student registration documents for all new and returning students each school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required within 3 months of hire.
- Must have strong communication (verbal and written) communications skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of a variety of technology software programs to assist with school website.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.
