Support commercial construction projects from preconstruction and startup through closeout while gaining hands-on experience across both project management and field operations. This is an entry-level construction role working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams.

Established commercial general contractor delivering multi-million-dollar projects throughout Alabama and the Southeast. Project Engineers work alongside experienced project and field teams with a clear path toward increased project responsibility and Project Management.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, drawing logs, and project documentation
• Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination
• Maintain organized and current electronic project files and document-control systems
• Assist with jobsite documentation and daily field reporting
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers and track material deliveries and lead times
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Participate in project and subcontractor meetings and distribute meeting documentation
• Assist with permits and regulatory-compliance tracking
• Support project schedules and overall coordination
• Assist with jobsite safety and quality-control inspections
• Develop punch lists and support project turnover and closeout documentation
• Communicate with owners, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
• Take on additional project management and field responsibilities as experience develops

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 0–2 years of construction or engineering experience
• Construction internship or co-op experience strongly preferred
• Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and terminology
• Strong organization, communication, and follow-through
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or Microsoft Project preferred
• Comfortable working in both office and active jobsite environments
• Willingness to travel based on project needs
