The Offsite Adoption Specialist focuses on daily offsite opportunities to showcase shelter pets within the community, ensuring they receive maximum exposure for potential adoption. This role involves selecting suitable dogs for offsite events and "doggie day out" programs, coordinating transportation, and working closely with staff and volunteers to manage these activities. Plan and organize daily offsite adoption events and activities; coordinate with local businesses, parks, and community centers to set up adoption events; ensure that all necessary materials (e.g., tents, tables, marketing materials) are prepared and transported to offsite locations. Select dogs with appropriate behavior for "doggie day out" programs based on their temperament and suitability for public interactions; coordinate with volunteers and staff to facilitate "dogs participating in "doggie day out" programs in the shelter management system (e.g., Shelterluv). Supervise dogs during offsite events to ensure their safety and well-being; interact with potential adopters, providing information about the dogs and the adoption process. Work with staff and volunteers to ensure that all necessary materials and equipment for offsite events are prepared; maintain an inventory of supplies needed for offsite events and report any shortages to the supervisor; ensure that dogs are groomed and ready for public appearances. Train and guide volunteers on the procedures and protocols for offsite adoption events and "doggie day out" programs; coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure adequate volunteer support for offsite activities. Observe and document dogs" behaviors during offsite events and "doggie day out" programs to identify and signs of stress or behavioral issues. Transport animal locally to and from vet clinics, boarding facilities, and other necessary travel destinations; ensure safe and secure handling of animals during transport, following all safety protocols. Experience in animal behavior, training, or a related field; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a team and manage multiple tasks; commitment to the welfare of shelter animals and the ability to handle animals safely. Must have a valid driver"s license and a clean driving record.
